| The Junior Open Championship |
Nathan Callighen & Brennan Smith are the reigning Junior City Champions
The Junior Open Championship made its debut in 2007 at Château Cartier where 32 teams of two battled it out from the tips for the first ever Junior Championship title. For 2008, there will be a maximum of 40 teams.
For 2008, all teams that make the cut have their complimentary weekday-only Executive Golf memberships upgraded to full status for the 2009 season. In addition to the title, trophy and sponsor prizes, the champions also win a complimentary entry for the Open Championship in the 2009 Ottawa Sun Scramble City Championship.
Those who miss the cut receive a free round of golf on Executive Golf.
Play to make the cut, then go for the title
Open to all juniors, male and female, who are 18-years or younger on the tournament date (see qualifying criteria), this event is one of five City Championships throughout the week of August 18-24. Competitors do not require an official handicap and teams who make the cut after round one (top eight teams), play for the Championship at Eagle Creek Golf Club on Sunday, August 24th.
