For all divisions

Competitors must meet certain qualifying criteria to be eligible for the 2010 Championships, and all qualified registrants are entered on a first-come first-served basis.

Note to past competitors

All those who made the cut or placed in the top 20, in any division, in any previous year of the tournament, and who meet the qualifying criteria below, will have a spot reserved until May 31. After May 31, registrations will be taken on a first-come first-served basis by all who meet the qualifying criteria.

Professional golfers

We welcome professionals in the Ladies, Senior and Open Championships, but only one team member can be a pro.

Qualifying options

If you do not meet the criteria or if an event is full, you may play in the Qualifier at Eagle Creek on August 1, or attempt to qualify via The Slammer Tour.

Kick-Off Day

The Open
Championship
Open competitors must meet the following criteria:
  • General public, each with a scoring average of 83 or less, or each with an RCGA handicap factor of 10.0 or less
The Ladies Open Lady competitors must meet the following criteria:
  • General public, each with a scoring average of 87 or less, or each with an RCGA handicap factor of 14.0 or less
The Senior Open Senior competitors must be 50 years of age or older as of August 21, 2009 and must meet the following criteria:
  • General public, each with a scoring average of 90 or less, or each with an RCGA handicap factor of 17.0 or less
The Junior Open Junior competitors must be 18 years of age or under on the date of round #1 (August 20, 2009) and meet the following criteria:
  • General public, each with a scoring average of less than 110, or each with an RCGA handicap factor of 35.0 or less
The Ladies B Championship Lady B competitors must meet the following criteria:
  • General public: both team members must have scoring averages between 88 and 96 or RCGA handicap factors between 14.0 and 22.0. If either player has a scoring average or handicap factor that is higher, they must try to qualify via The Slammer Tour or in the qualifier at Eagle Creek. If either player has a scoring average or RCGA handicap factor that is lower, then they are not eligible for the Ladies B.

  • Lady B Championship competitors cannot (within the last two years) ...

    • have made the cut in past Ottawa Sun Scramble Ladies Open Championship
    • have played in any A-Class RCGA sanctioned event
    • have been a member of any division A to J OVGA Intersectional team
The Open B Championship Open B Championship competitors must meet the following criteria:
  • General public: both team members must have scoring averages between 84 and 92 or RCGA handicap factors between 12.0 and 20.0. If either player has a scoring average or handicap factor that is higher, they must try to qualify via The Slammer Tour or in the qualifier at Eagle Creek. If either player has a scoring average or RCGA handicap factor that is lower, then they are not eligible for the Open B.
  • Open B Championship competitors cannot (within the last two years) ....

    • have won the Open B Championship in the last two years
    • have made the cut in past Ottawa Sun Scramble Open or Senior Open Championships
    • have played in any A-Class RCGA sanctioned event
    • have been a member of any division A to J OVGA Intersectional team
The Open C Championship Open C Championship competitors must meet the following criteria:
  • General public: both team members must have scoring averages between 92 and 99 or RCGA handicap factors between 17.1 and 25.0. If either player has a scoring average or handicap factor that is higher, they must try to qualify via The Slammer Tour or in the qualifier at Eagle Creek. If either player has a scoring average or RCGA handicap factor that is lower, then they are not eligible for the Open C.
  • Open C Championship competitors cannot (within the last two years) ....

    • have won the Open C Championship in the last two years
    • have made the cut in past Ottawa Sun Scramble Open or Senior Open Championships
    • have played in any A-Class RCGA sanctioned event
    • have been a member of any division A to J OVGA Intersectional team
